RTE's Supervisory Board, meeting on June 12, 2025, reappointed Xavier Piechaczyk (2003 MS) as Chairman of RTE's Executive Board, following approval by the Minister for Industry and Energy and deliberation by the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) on compliance with the conditions of independence laid down in the Energy Code.Énergie and deliberation by the Commission de Régulation de l'Energie (CRE) concerning compliance with the conditions of independence laid down in the Energy Code.

This new mandate will begin on September 1ᵉʳ, 2025, for a period of 5 years.

Aged 55, Xavier Piechaczyk is Ingénieur en chef des ponts, des eaux et des forêts, a graduate of the École nationale des travaux publics de l'État and the École nationale des ponts et chaussées. He also holds a doctorate in political science.

Since 2000, he has held a number of positions as project manager for linear infrastructures, at the Roads Department of the French Ministry of Public Works and at the Infrastructure Department of the French Ministry of Ecology. During these roles, he worked in close collaboration with manufacturers in the energy, transport and construction sectors, as well as with the State, local authorities, environmental protection stakeholders and trade unions in the sectors in which he was involved.

Between 2012 and 2015, he was advisor to the Prime Minister and then to the President of the Republic, in charge of energy, transport, housing and the environment. Previously, as Director of Transport Services, he was responsible for regulatory, safety and security issues, as well as the social aspects of land transport (rail, urban transport, road freight and passenger transport, major seaports).

In 2015, he joined RTE as a member of the Executive Board, Deputy Managing Director in charge of networks, customers and territories. His missions focused in particular on the management of the electricity transmission network's industrial assets, the management of land and property assets, customer relations and relations with territories and local authorities.

Since September 1, 2020, Xavier Piechaczyk has been Chairman of the Executive Board of RTE.
