From transatlantic aesthetics to naval architecture

Illustrations and reflections on current challenges in maritime transport and tourism

The Ponts Ouest and Ponts Maritime groups invite you to take part in the following event on March 6, 2025 in Nantes.

INVITATION

The X mer and X nantais groups are pleased to invite you to the AIA, the former plotter's room of the Dubigeon shipyard, to meet :

- Thibaut Tincelin, naval architect (X94) , cabinet Stirling Design International
- Simon Watin, naval architect (X04), cabinet Van Peteghem Lauriot Prévost (VPLP)

Following an interesting visit to the exhibition on transatlantic aesthetics currently on show in Nantes at the Musée d'Art, X Mer and X44 wanted to look again at the permanence and advances of aesthetics in the architecture of modern liners and ships.

At a time of almost uninterrupted growth in maritime traffic (freight and passengers), new uses and decarbonization, the speakers will offer illustrations and their contributions to a reflection on the advances in naval architecture, which today count in the implementation of concepts and performance, around the current challenges of maritime transport and tourism.

Towards renewed aesthetics and industry? To better follow, to better understand, to anticipate, come one, come all!

After short presentations, the speakers will answer questions.

This event is supported by Laurent Castaing, Managing Director of Chantiers de l'Atlantique.

A friendly drink will follow.
