The changing face of cycling: challenges and opportunities for local authorities and businesses
Cycling is booming in France, encouraged by growing public awareness, urban redevelopment and rising petrol prices. Yet there are still many challenges to be met. Increasing the modal share of cycling cannot be achieved by decree: it requires the development of a "cycling system". This means building cycling facilities, developing services for users and implementing incentive policies.
Theaim of this round-table discussion is to find out how companies and local authorities are adapting to this new situation: internal transformations, strategic reorientations, business opportunities - the topics are numerous. We'll also look at how the interactions between these different players are evolving in this new context.
We will welcome four speakers, whose diversity will help us understand the transformation challenges facing the various organizations involved.
- Valentin Lungenstrass, Deputy Mayor of Lyon, in charge of mobility, urban logistics and public spaces
- Anne-Gaëlle Clot, mobility consultant and bicycle industry expert
- Marc Michaud, center manager at Perrier TP VRD
- Clémence Chastan, Head of New Uses and Impact Initiatives at LinkCity
The round-table discussion will be moderated by Benoît Kieffer, IPRhA member and co-manager of Toutenvélo Lyon.
Duration: 1h15 round-table discussion, followed by a 45-minute question-and-answer session.
The discussions will be followed by a convivial time to continue the exchanges.
