On September 22, X-Ponts Pierre brought together a large audience to shed light, as a prelude to the HLM congress, on two top-quality speakers

The social housing business model

Two strong voices spoke: Serge Bossini , Managing Director of the Agence Nationale de Contrôle du Logement Social, and François Rochon, urban planning researcher and social housing expert.

They questioned the relevance, strengths and weaknesses of the French social housing model.

They highlighted the strength and solidity of the current model, while underlining some major weaknesses, notably a certain mismatch between the type of supply and the nature of demand. 73% of T3 and above for 72% of demand by single people or single-parent families. Insufficient supply of housing at PLAI rents in relation to demand.

Solutions were proposed and debated around the issue of building in greater quantity and with a supply in line with demand, or concerning the territorial organization of landlords.

Educational, lucid words greeted by all, followed by a lively exchange of views.

Ponts Alumni will remember this as a useful, stimulating and solutions-oriented evening.
