A look back at the conference: "Improving our performance in occupational health and safety: three managers' views".
On September 30, the Maison des Ponts hosted a conference led by Laure Girodet (CIV 96), Veolia's Health & Safety Director, on a major issue: how to improve health and safety in the workplace. At a time when France's record on work-related accidents is less than stellar compared to its European neighbors, three senior executives shared their experiences and solutions.
Guillaume Sauvé (X92 - Ponts97), Managing Director of Eiffage Infrastructure, shed light on the specific challenges facing the construction industry. Yannick Ratte (CIV97), General Manager of Veolia's SARP Business Unit, presented best practices in the field of operations, while Charles-Edouard Delpierre (MSc97), General Manager of Veolia's SARP Business Unit, presented best practices in the field of operations. Charles-Edouard Delpierre (MS08), recently appointed Managing Director of Tractebel France, addressed the challenges specific to engineering. Their testimonials highlighted concrete ways forward.
The evening concluded with a convivial cocktail party, giving participants the opportunity to exchange ideas informally with the speakers, and to deepen their reflections.
Listen to the replay, and you'll discover the managerial health and safety rituals of these 3 managers, and their recommendations for young engineers leaving the school. You'll also hear about the areas they'd like to see progress in today, such as subcontracting management and support for new recruits, who are more vulnerable to accidents.
