Conference: "Committed to social inclusion - what role for Ponts students and alumni?

Les Ponts alumni, are you ready to commit to social inclusion?

" Enhancing the value of scientific studies and promoting the diversity of students in science and engineering schools " are two of the objectives put forward by Ponts Alumni in its charter, which are in line with the diversity approach (social, territorial, etc.) to which the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées has been committed for several years.

Indeed, who better than the alumni of our engineering schools to talk concretely about these studies and their professions, but also to contribute actively to tutoring/mentoring initiatives led by committed associations?

To find out more about the initiatives run by the school via Develop'Ponts' Social Opening department, as well as the DTGE* and Article 1 associations with which we will be signing a partnership agreement on the day and which you can join individually, we invite you to take part in our event:

"Committing to social openness - what place for Ponts students and alumni?"

📅 May 19, 2025

⌚18:30 to 20:00

📍Presential (remote connection possible)

With students and representatives of the following associations:

  • The Social Opening Department of Dévelop'Ponts
  • The Article 1 association
  • *The "Des Territoires aux Grandes Écoles" (DTGE) association

Whether you're just curious or already convinced and ready to get involved, come and discover the variety of ways in which you, as a Ponts alumni, can help young people from modest backgrounds and with potential to get the best possible education and choose, why not, a career in science. From a few hours a year to a few hours a month, in Ile de France, in regional metropolises but also in more rural departments.

The evening, hosted by Laure Girodet (CIV 96) and Vincent Guardiola (CIV 81), will be followed by a convivial drink to continue the discussions.

It will be possible to connect remotely.

We hope to see many of you there!

Article 1

Article 1 was born from the merger of the well-known associations Frateli & Passeport Avenir in 2018. "Article 1 works for a society where guidance, success in studies and professional integration do not depend on social, economic and cultural origins", through animations in high schools and mentoring: " more than 100,000 young people are accompanied to realize themselves, emancipate themselves and take power over the future".

Des Territoires aux Grandes Ecoles : " Acting for equal opportunity and the development of our territories".

This association organizes the involvement of former "grandes écoles" students living "in the territories" (mentoring and workshops in middle and high schools in their "territories") to encourage students living far from major metropolises, and therefore less well-informed, to take up scientific studies/"grandes écoles".
